Ahhh weekends. These were the times of parties, late nights out, and sleeping in. Now, as parents, they are comprised of sports events, random kid’s birthday parties and breaking up fights between siblings. I do love them, but weekends can occasionally suck for parents, if we are being honest here.
I’ve gathered up ten ways that weekends can suck for parents all over the world, see if you can relate to any of them!
1.The kids don’t get that concept of “sleeping in” yet, so weekends are reserved for rising and barely shining probably even earlier than you’d do on a weekday.
2.More free time at home, means more fighting for the kids-no matter how many events you have planned!
3.Weekend TV is terrible- and one human can only handle so many episodes of SpongeBob on demand.
5.Those fancy weekend dinners you had planned to cook never go over well with the kids and often I’m left eating it- alone.
6.If you have a husband that works on weekends like me, then you are handling even more kid time- alone again!
7.16 hours of sports games, cub scout meetings, CCD classes and who knows what else. I thought weekends were for resting?
8.The constant sounds of kids playing Minecraft- for hours on end.
9.Having to do any errands WITH your kids AND the weekend crowds.
10.No school! 🙂
I do love extra time for my kids, and wouldn’t trade these times for the world- but wouldn’t it be great, just for one weekend, to sleep in and watch Netflix all day? Just once, ok kids?
What do you dread on the weekends??
