This weekend I made a new craft with the peas: cloud dough! This “dough” is really a very soft and moldable sand. It is extremely easy to make and the kids had a blast. It is made with only two ingredients: flour and oil.
To make this, mix together one bag of flour (any kind) and 2 1/2 cups of oil. I used vegetable oil and it was odorless, but I’ve seen other people make it with baby oil as well, for a nice scent.
Pour in the flour, add the oil and mix- it’s that simple!
I had an old flat tupperwear container and I used that to make the dough in. This way, I could easily store it for later use. Hannah had fun helping me mix it up, she called the oil the “cloud juice”.
Once it’s all mixed, it’s ready to use. I found a bunch of the smaller sand box toys and let the kids play outside with it. This way, it would be easy to clean up any that spilt.
Even Thomas the Train and his friends got a chance to play.
This is a fun and easy way to kill some down time this summer. Will you be making it with your kiddies? Comment and let me know!
Warning: my dog kept eating this stuff, but I suppose it is all natural, so she should be good 🙂
