Valentine’s Day is right around the corner, which means plenty of red, pink and chocolate around! If you are in need of a so simple and quick DIY that’s perfect for a little gift to your kids, their friends or teachers- I have one for you. These so cute chocolate mice are incredibly easy to make and absolutely adorable too.
To make these cutie patooties, you will only need a few items:
valentine’s day Hershey kisses (2 per mouse)
mini googly eyes
pink, red, and cream card stock or scrapbook paper
baker’s twine
non-toxic glue (like Elmer’s white glue)
To make each mouse, you will need two eyes, a piece of baker’s twine for the tail and two ears.
To make the ears, you will cut out a larger and smaller ear piece and glue together, I used pink, cream and red to keep with my Valentine’s theme, but you could always swap those colors out to whatever ones you wish!
Sticking the pieces together for each mouse is easy, just hold one kiss and place some glue on it, then stick on the ears and then sandwich the second kiss on top of it. Add on the eyes and then you’ll want to let it dry for a bit. I used my old baby bottle drying rack for mine, so they could dry upright. Let them dry for at least 30 minutes.
Once they are dry, add on the tail with a dab more glue and then let it dry some more. Once it’s completely dry, then it can be handled quiet easily! My kids have been playing with theirs (just remind them to be sure to keep it away from any pets!)
Squee! So cute, right?! I can’t even deal with how adorable these are, and I am not even a Valentine’s Day fan! I love how easy they are to make and how much you can vary the colors. They would make the perfect companion to your kid’s Valentine’s Day treats for class too.
Love this, Michelle. So cute and easy and no nuts!
Thanks Seana! I just love them!
