Mother’s Day is just around the corner and is a great excuse to get some time to relax, be with family and be spoiled- even if it’s just for a day. I love the homemade presents from my kids on this day and the flowers from my husband- but I have a different tradition for this day and it’s one of my favorites! Being a part time writer, full time mom, I am with my kids A LOT- like every single day a lot- and while I love them to pieces, who doesn’t love a little break?? One tradition my mom friends and I have is to get together around Mother’s Day and celebrate US. Every mom should be able to sip & share with your mom friends this Mother’s Day, because you deserve it!
I love spending time with my kids, but any mom would be lying if she didn’t say she didn’t love those rare moments of alone time, or even better, time with your friends! Being able to spend time with my mom friends and actually be able to TALK and HEAR one another is a rare thing. In our group we have over 10 kids between us, and that all adds up to a LOT of noise! We love the chance to get together without them and just be able to sit and talk.
Usually when we all get together on the weekends, we are dealing with snack requests, fights, arguments, and more snack requests- and we don’t get to actually have an adult conversation! When Mother’s Day comes around, it’s a great reason for us to declare that the husbands take the kids and us wives can get together and eat, drink and be very merry!
No mom’s night in (away from the kids!!) is complete without some fantastic wine. One of my new favorites to bring is Butter Chardonnay from JaM Cellars. This wine comes in a gorgeous bottle that looks great on any tablescape and tastes AMAZING! Seriously- it really has a smooth butter feel to it so it’s perfect for all of my friends, no matter what kind of white is their favorite.
Butter Chardonnay is one of three amazing wines from second-generation Napa Valley vintners John and Michele. They are the “J” and the “M” in JaM Cellars and have made these wines in a style they love to enjoy with their friends any day of the week. This wine has such a rich, bold and luscious taste without the bitterness that some chardonnay’s can have. Made in the tradition of quality Californian winemaking, the grapes they select are juicy, ripe and bursting with flavor. Each sip of Butter brims with a fruity and baked-lemon taste and has a lovely, long, vanilla finish. Simply put, it melts in your mouth- truly!
We love to pair our mom’s night in with some treats. Making a cheese and fruit board is perfect for paring with Butter and are so yummy to snack on. One of the best parts about getting together with my mom friends is that we can have ADULT snacks! Keep the goldfish in the pantry and instead we have whole wheat crackers, prosciutto and fancy cheeses. Pair these with a declines glass of wine, and that is truly a Mother’s Day to remember!
I have the best mom friends that are always their for me when I need them- we are a tight knit group and always have a blast when we are hanging out. Thankfully all of our husbands are just as close, so us unloading kid duty on them for a night is easier that you’d think. Every mom deserves to have a “night off” for mother’s day, so next month, I highly suggest that EVERY mom gets together with their friends and has a night to laugh, snack and sip some fantastic wine!
So this Mother’s Day, give yourself the gift of fun by getting together with your mom tribe- and don’t forget the Butter! This wine is an easy to love, everyday wine, and best Chardonnay under $20. Find a store near you with the JaMCellars store locator and don’t forget to follow JaM Cellars on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter for daily wine inspiration, fun happenings and events!
