Labor Day has passed so that unofficially means we are in the fall season! Time to say bye bye to summertime, hot temperatures and pool days and hello to cooler temperatures, gorgeous leaves, pumpkins, boots and scarves. Fall is my favorite time of the year and this year I am even more excited for it, since we have moved back to a place that actually has it!
One of the many things I love about our new house is the fact that we actually have a mantel. I have never has a mantel before so I am so excited to actually decorate it! I pulled out all of my fall decorations a few days ago and got to decorating. I did the mantel first and may add some things to it, but am pretty much in love with it. I left a few things up that I had on there from before, like the tall vase with the flowers, and the picture of us, but added more for the fall season.
One of my favorite parts is the beautiful fall is fabulous printable that I got from The TomKat Studios. She has some gorgeous things over there so it’s a must to check out! I painted the frame a nice gray color so that it would match the living room decor and could be swapped out for other seasons as the year changes.
I placed some fall leaf foliage on and then added some pumpkins, of course! I did one rattan one, one ceramic and two wooden. I thought the mix of textures looked really nice.
On the other side, I left my white vase with my seashells on it, since I liked it with the white owl near the vase, and added some fall flowers wrapped in burlap. The flowers added some height and color to it.
Overall, this fall mantel decor is very simple, clean and festive. It’s not too overwhelming or overstated, but looks gorgeous and really makes me excited for the rest of the season! I also can’t wait to decorate it for Christmas too.
Do you have a mantel at home? What’s your decor style for it: busy or simple?
