Do you love PEEPS®? Yes, me too! They are my favorite Easter candy. I don’t just love eating them, but love creating recipes out of them too! Last year, I made some Peep Fruit Kabobs, and this year I wanted to make something sweeter- and oh so cute! These little Peep Birdie Nests are so simple to make and adorable too!
These cute little treats remind me of a yellow bird sitting in a nest. They would perfect or a sweet after school treat, or for an Easter party. They only take a few ingredients to make (four in fact!) and are as yummy as they are cute.
To make these, you’ll need:
refrigerated sugar cookie dough
meltable chocolate pieces
chocolate frosting
Peeps
For the nests, you will press each cookie piece into a GREASED mini-muffin pan and cook for 10-12 minutes at 350 degrees. Once they are done, remove and let cool completely on a wire rack. Once they are cool, prepare the chocolate and then dip the bottom of each cookie into the chocolate and then flip over and let harden on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper.
You can put them in the fridge for a bit to quicken this process. Once they are set, flip over and fill with frosting and top each with a PEEPS® chick!
Pretty simple right? These are just too cute and with how easy they are to make, you won’t mind making a huge batch for all of the kids you know!
We love all flavors of Peeps, there are so many to choose from! For these birdie nests, I used the new Sugar-Free PEEPS®, back by popular demand!
