Welcome to my new series! I love having an organized home but always struggle with my inner lazy mom and my organizing sensibilities. I would like to share a few ways that help me to stay organized with three little pea tornadoes running around.
Today I will share my weekly cleaning schedule with you. I like having a clean house, but don’t always like the act of cleaning, so I try to keep it as simple as possible. For me, it’s easier to break the cleaning tasks down, doing on major thing per day and a few daily tasks, so that the mess doesn’t take over. This works for me!
This is my weekly cleaning schedule that I follow. I find having a cute thing I can hang up in my command center makes it easier to get done.
Here’s what I do each week:
Monday: I deep clean the bathrooms and wash the rugs. That also included the floors in the bathroom and making sure the hand towels are fresh and clean.
Tuesday: I clean the kitchen top to bottom. I clean out the oven and inside of the fridge monthly (see below)
Wednesday: Clean the bedrooms.
Thursday: Dust the whole house.
Friday: Clean the windows and glass, except the back slider, I have to clean that EVERYDAY because of the dog!
Saturday and Sunday: Water the plants and wash all the bedding. That takes awhile so I like that to be my only project for the day.
Dailies: These are the things I do everyday
laundry (as needed)
pick up toys
wipe kitchen counters, table and bathroom counters
sweep and mop the kitchen (because my kids are slobs!)
vacuum, sometimes every other day
clean the sliding door
Monthlies: These are the tasks I like to do once a month
clean out the trash barrels, including the once for the street
clean the inside of the fridge
clean the stove
vacuum vents and ceiling fans
vacuum in the couch cushions
So there you have it! Click on the image, print it out and hang it up! This way you will have a visual reminder of what needs to be done each day to keep your house clean…at least until the kids get home from school 😉
