This past week I threw an epic Minecraft birthday party for my kids and was on the hunt for cool party favors. Normally I plan ahead for this time of thing, but as it so happens, I was backed up with work at home and at my kids school and suddenly it was the week of the party and I hadn’t done too much! I was trying to think of something for favors and knew I didn’t want candy, one because we just had Halloween and everyone (including me!) still had oodles of unwanted candy at home and two- who wants their kids to have MORE candy! Not me! So I wanting to find something that would be fun and also not cost a fortune, so I came up with these bracelets! These were incredibly easy to do and cost less than $10 to make 20 with plenty of tape left over!
Here’s what you’ll need:
green duct tape
velcro circles (one her bracelet)
These are super easy to make. All’s you need to do is measure out how long you want then to be and cut two strips of tape that length and stick them to one another so you have tape on the front and back, with the sticky sides together. I tried to cut a long one at first and fold it- but that did NOT work out. Can you tell which one above was me trying to fold it??? Yea, not going to happen. Just cut one piece and then cut a second one and stick them together. I did mine 6 1/2 inches long for littler wrists, but just measure one of your kid’s wrists to know long to cut yours.
One you are done, just draw a Creeper face with sharpie on them and let it dry, then place the Velcro circles on in a way that the kids can easily put them on and off when they want.
I just free drew my Creeper faces, but if you don’t feel comfortable with that (it’s pretty easy) then you could find a template and trace.
These were a big hit at the party and were a much better favor than candy and much cheaper than a bag of toys. They also were easy to make. In addition to these, I made paper diamond swords for the kids, that were much harder to make and cut. These were super cool though.
Stay tuned for more Minecraft crafts from our party!
