Halloween is fast approaching and if you have little ones how like to go trick or treating with their bigger siblings, then you know the struggle of them not wanting to walk anymore 4 houses into your event. Been there, done that- which is why we have smartened up and started bringing a wagon with us. Our favorite wagon is the adorable Little Tikes Cozy Coupe wagon. It’s easy to pull, fits two kids plus drinks and can easily be dolled up to match your little one’s Halloween costume! This year, my youngest wanted to be a doggy (again) so I decided to transform her wagon into a dog house! Read on to see why we love this wagon- and also enter to win one for yourself!!
The Cozy Coupe wagon is a must for parents of little kids. It’s really perfect for walks around the block, trips to the park, the pumpkin patch, and of course, trick or treating! My 5 year old gets tired literally have 5 minutes of walking, so unless my husband or I want to carry her the whole way (no thanks!) then bringing a wagon with us is a must. We are past our stroller days, so this is a nice change and great for carrying her and even a few bags.
The Cozy Coupe wagon has the bright red color you’d expect and the iconic eyes that you’d find on the Cozy Coupe car. It has two seats and can easily fit two or even three small kids inside of it. This wagon doesn’t come with any buckles, so remind your little ones to stay sitting when you are riding! We love the cup holders that can fit any standard size sippy cup or water bottle snuggly so they don’t wiggle around and risk spilling everywhere.
We love the little door that opens and closes too. It’s my daughters favorite part and makes getting in and out really simple for little legs. The wheels turn smoothly and it’s so easy to pull wherever you are going. The handle can completely fold under the wagon too for storage. The Cozy Coupe wagon is made with care and quality materials in the US and will absolutely last for MANY, many years- even with the most rambunctious kids!
If you are lugging little ones trick or treating, they may want to spend most of their time snacking on candy in the wagon, so why not make the wagon match their costume?? If you have a doggy lover in your house like I do, turning your wagon into a dog house will really make their day! With some simple materials and some strong tape, you can transform your wagon from regular into a little red dog house!
To make this, you’ll need:
two pieces of foam board
two pieces of poster board
red, brown and black paint
box cutter
scissors
duct tape
packing tape
I couldn’t find red foam board, so I painted my boards instead. It took a few coats and didn’t have the most smooth look, but after they dry, they will have a more rustic look to them. Paint the foam boards (they are thicker) red and the poster boards (these are thinner) brown. Once they are dry, cut a rectangle in one red board for a window and cut an arch in the other board for a doorway. I used a box cutter to do this. Then, I painted black lines in the sides and on the rook for details. To attach the foam boards, you’ll probably need some help. Place some duct tape on the bottom and have someone kind of hold it in place, the duct tape will stick, but until you attach the roof, it may start to fall. We also had to bend the back some to match the arch of the sides of the wagon. Attach the roof with some packing tape under and on the inside, and you’ll probably have to attach some packing tape on the bottom of foam boards to help it stick. The texture of the sides of the wagon make the tape harder to stick, but it will with enough of it!
So cute, right?? My daughter just loved how this turned out and how she had her own little doggy house- woof!! It was fun to make and even more fun to pull around.
