Today is the last day of school!!
I am THRILLED not to have to set my alarm every morning, pack snacks, lunches and battle to get out the door on time.
I am excited to begin out summer of fun, plan in hand. I want to really focus on making each day count and trying new activities with the kids.
It’s also a bittersweet day, saying good bye to some well-loved teachers. Although Hannah will be going on to the preschool next year, there will be some teacher change-ups next year so we won’t be seeing all the same faces every morning. That made me teary!!
Abby’s teacher is leaving to stay home with her baby next year…when I went in to say thank you and good byes, we both started crying, knowing this was an end of an era for her, and me remembering how that felt a few years ago. Teaching has that effect on you…it will always be apart of your heart, even after you leave the profession.
My kids have learned a lot and grown just as much this year!
Abby is more mature, smarter, a better reader and can do some multiplication now! She is still a caring and loving friend and has been better at branching out and making new friends.
Jacob can write all his letters, knows all his sounds and can read some sight words. He has honed his artistic skills in an amazing way. He has also made some new friends and has become more outgoing.
I am SO proud of both of them and am excited for their next steps on their journeys next year! Going to school is such an important part of growing up, not only academically, but this is when they begin to have that life outside of you; their own friends, experiences, happies and stresses. It’s another bitter sweet moment for parents…learning to let go, at least just a little bit 😉
I’ll leave you will a little beginning and end of the year pictures!
1st day of school!

Jake before his first day
Today!
Can’t believe how much they’ve grown this year. 🙂
Wow so much growth! So fun to see how much changes In a year!
The last day of school is bittersweet. I am grateful that there is one more pea to go through preschool at Cottonwood!
I totally agree! We are not quite ready to leave the preschool quite yet 😉
