Spring is upon us, and in Arizona, that means summer is upon us! We have seemed to skip spring and headed right into summer with temps this past week rising into the 90’s. Hot weather means cool treats and one of my kids favorite things to do is eat homemade popsicles. We love these for so many reasons; first and for most is the ability to create fun flavors! They love trying new things and I love being able to give them treats that aren’t saturated in sugar and other processed ingredients.
This week strawberries were on a great sale at my local market so I bought four packages! Since we had so many, I decided to turn some into some delicious strawberry popsicles. By adding in some greek yogurt and milk, they became strawberries and cream pops. These pops were SO easy to make and only used a few ingredients.
- 1½ c fresh strawberries, hulled
- ½ t vanilla extract
- ½ c plain greek yogurt
- ¼ c milk
- 1½ T sugar
- Puree your strawberries.
- Add in the remaining ingredients and mix well.
- Pour into a popsicle mold and let set overnight.
Since my kiddies aren’t big on “chunky” things, I pureed my berries until they were smooth, but if yours didn’t mind you could mix in some chopped berries, which would be delicious! To celebrate these new treats and warm days, we headed outside to dive head first into these yummy popsicles.
Well, warm days+cool treats+kids= big messes! Thankfully I brought my Wet-Nap pop-up package with me that I had just picked at Walmart this week. I love how shopping there helps keep me on my budget because of their everyday low prices. Wet-Naps are SUPER convenient and effective at cleaning up big time messy faces and hands. I love the snap shut top and baby wipe-style package which makes them fit into my bag very easily.
The package is very cute too! Just a few wipes later and messy faces were clean again and we were off to play! My kids ate up these pops in a matter of minutes. I love how wholesome they are with all natural ingredients and very little sugar. It’s a yummy treat that is both kid and mama approved.
So before you head out for your sunny day expositions, don’t forget to grab a package of Wet-Nap’s so your fun days don’t end up with sticky shirts and hands. Head on over to your closest Walmart and use this coupon http://wetnap.com/coupons to get the best deal!
Do you like to make homemade popsicles with your kids? What’s your favorite combination of flavors to include?
How fun! I’m totally pinning this, my daughter has been asking to make popsicles lately and this would make such a fun treat.
Great! I hope she loves them!
These are perfect and so simple! I heard that it is almost strawberry picking season here in Florida, so we should have plenty to make these a few times! We love greek yogurt here as well AND I heard the Easter Bunny got our little a freeze pop mold set for his Easter basket 🙂
Definitely pinning this recipe!!
