There you are. Kids are in bed. You’ve ahead had dinner and then it strikes. You get a craving: something sweet? Maybe something salty? Either way, you know you aren’t really hungry, but you want to munch on something. You don’t want to ruin all of your hard work for the day, but you really want a snack- what do you do?? Now there is a way to solve this problem without ruining all the great eating you did earlier: MealEnders.
What is MealEnders? It is “The Antidote to Overeating.” I wasn’t sure at first, but the more I researched it made sense and when I tried them I was sold. So what is MealEnders? It is a low-calorie, drug and stimulant free “signaling lozenge” that helps people to manage portion control.
MealEnders works in two ways:
– First, it has a sweet, outer reward layer–provides a measured dose of dessert that is associated with the end of the meal
– Then it has a cooling, tingling inner core–engages the trigeminal nerve (nerve that is associated with taste) with cooling/tingling sensations to cue the end of eating.
If you have ever heard the idea that it takes 20 minutes for your stomach to tell your brain it’s full, it’s true! When you know you’ve eaten enough (even if you don’t feel full) you can enjoy a MealEnder which gives you a taste of dessert and then engages the trigeminal nerve, distracting your tastebuds. By the time it’s done working, 20 minutes have gone by and allowed enough time to send a signal to your brain that you’re full, thus ending the dangers of overeating.
There are four flavors, chocolate mint, mocha, citrus and cinnamon and all are pretty tasty. I’ve been loving the chocolate one since it really has that “dessert-y” feel to it. I like how they come in these small individually wrapped packs so they are easy to throw in your bag to keep with you when you are out and about. They are Kosher and also both gluten-free and have no added high fructose syrup. Each MealEnder has 15 calories per piece and contain only 2 grams of sugar.
So, is this a magic pill? Of course not, but this with a balanced diet and workout routine can be a very important piece of your weight-loss puzzle. You can learn more about the science behind MealEnders by checking out their website, on Facebook, twitter, and on instagram.
