I love adding new little touches of decor to my house, especially ones that don’t require much money! I love the look of farmhouse decor and would probably describe my style as “coastal farmhouse”- like coastal beach and farmhouse decor combined into one! Is that even a style? Maybe not, but it’s I would best describe my style as. These easy farmhouse painted bottles fit both of my styles and add the perfect touch of whimsey and fun to any room- and they were so simple to make too!
I recently wanted to add something new to my couch table and when I saw these cute dairy bottles at the craft store recently, I knew I had to get some! By just adding some paint, they were transformed and add such a lovely touch to this corner.
Even as clear, these bottles were way cute but by adding some paint, they really stood out. I used some white acrylic paint, but I think chalk paint would look excellent too. I actually had intended to use chalk paint and thought I had some at home, but when I started my project, I realized it was all gone!
Two coats of paint on the outside of the bottle gave them a nice, rustic look. If you want a more solid paint look, you will want to do three coats or even four. Once you are satisfied with the look of the white, use a piece of sandpaper to brush some of the paint off, especially on the letters, so it looks even more rustic.
I filled my bottles with some cotton stems and white flowers. The combo looked great together and gave them a nice clean look. I just loved how they turned out, and they were so simple to make too!
