Spring is almost here and that means more rain and wet grass. If you have pets (and kids!) you know that can mean muddy footprints and dirt in the house. That’s not fun for anyone, and trying to clean your dog’s paws can be challenging too! Thankfully, with just a few household items, you can make this super easy DIY Muddy Paws Mitt to quickly and simply clean your puppy’s paws when they get muddy!
This DIY Muddy Paws Mitt is so easy to make and you may not even have to shop for the pieces you’ll need to make it! Since I don’t have a sewing machine, I did hand stitch some parts of this, which took a few minutes, but was simple to do. If you have a sewing machine, then it will take you even faster! This mitt is super handy to clean your pups paws fast too- which is great for when my dog hears me filling up her bowl with her favorite food: Beneful® Original!
To make this mitt, you’ll only need a few things:
a hand towel or face cloth (depending on the size if your pups paws!)
piece of ribbon
needle, thread, scissors
To start you’ll want to fold you towel in half long ways. I just used a washcloth, but if you have a bigger dog, you may want to use a hand towel. You can either use an old towel or buy a new one- it doesn’t matter! Begin by placing the velcro on the open side of the wash cloth so it closes it up. Don’t place it all the way down the whole side, you’ll want to leave a hole on the bottom so you can put your hand inside of it, so you can easily get you pup’s paw in their to clean it off.
To make it extra secure, you can hand stitch the velcroed areas too. Lastly you can attach a ribbon to the top corner so you can hang it if you want, and also to add a touch of color.
That’s it! Pretty simple right? This muddy mitt only take a few minutes to make but will come in real handy for those days when they grass is muddy and wet. It’s easy to shake our the dirt and is machine washable too. Be sure to use a low heat so the velcro doesn’t lose it’s stickiness though. Now that your pup has clean paws, it’s time to eat! Our doggy’s most favorite food is Purina Beneful.
Beneful Originals is the perfect food for our dog. It’s full of real chicken or beef and has no added sugars. It has a great taste and texture that my dog loves and is easy on her sensitive stomach. I love knowing that real meat is the #1 ingredient with whole grains and vegetables. Best of all, I can grab a big bag of Beneful Originals at my favorite local Target! Beneful is a great price too, so I have more money in my budget for the other things we need.
Right now you can save even more on all sorts of Purina products at Target too. the Cartwheel app, you can download some additional savings, like 20% off Dog Chow, 20% off Beyond Dry, and 20% off ONE dry! That means you’ll spend less- or have extra money to hit up that dollar spot!
So before the rains come, be sure to hit up your local Target and get what you need to make this DIY Muddy Paws Mitt and a bag of Purina dog food- with her paws cleaned and her bowl full, you will have one happy pup on your hands!
