Dessert is by far my kid’s favorite “food group” and they love having a sweet treat after their meals- and I can’t blame them! I’m a big baker and love making homemade cake, cookies and pies, but sometimes I just don’t have the extra time, or energy, to make something that takes a while to prep and bake. For those days, we look for treats that are fast to make and easy to eat. Recently we have discovered that Keebler® makes mini graham cracker crusts and we enamored with the possibilities of adorable desserts we could make! So the next time you are entertaining, or just want something yummy after supper- why not whip up a super simple DIY Mini Pie Bar!
Pie is one of my very favorite desserts- I even have a whole Pinterest board devoted to it! I love how it’s like a compact dessert in one package. I love homemade flakey crusts for some, but for other recipes, nothing but a graham cracker crust will do. Keebler® is always a name I trust and I love how simple their crust is to use.
Being fall, I am in the apple-pumpkin-cinnamon-caramel mood. For our DIY Mini Pie Bar, I wanted to incorporate these flavors into my desserts, without all of the baking, peeling or prepping! These adorable little pies can be made in just a few steps and very few ingredients- with a lot of room for individual tastes!
After visiting my local Walmart, I stocked up on the main ingredients I would need to make my cute pie bar a big hit: Keebler® Ready Crust® Mini Graham Cracker Pie Crust, Dannon® Oikos® pumpkin pie yogurt, Dannon® Light & Fit® Greek Caramel Apple Pie yogurt and Reddi-Wip® whipped cream! The dairy was all found in the dairy aisle and the mini crusts were found on a special baking center display.
Yogurt- yes you read that correctly! The secret to these delicious and so simple to make mini pies is using fall flavored yogurts from Dannon®! The creamy texture of these yogurts and the fun fall flavors make the perfect pie filling with literally ZERO prep work!
To make these pies, it only take a few easy steps. Step one: choose your flavor! Each yogurt container will fill two mini pie crusts. I love both flavors and my kids are equally divided on which they liked the best.
Step two: fill your pie crust with your yogurt! They are easy to scoop out and this would be a great time to get your kids involved to help make their own desserts.
Step three: top each pie with a little dollop of Reddi-Wip® whipped cream- or a big dollop if you are like me!
Step four: pick your toppings! To transform this dessert into a DIY Mini Pie Bar- just set out a variety of toppings for your guests or kids to choose from. We picked chocolate chips, white chocolate chips, peanut butter chocolate chips, walnuts, chocolate sauce and caramel sauce. You can pick from as many or as few as you want!
These little mini pies are literally the easiest dessert on the planet (I swear!) and are perfect for any fall party you have coming up or gathering you are hosting. With only three main ingredients, they are finished in less than a minute each and taste FANTASTIC! By setting out the toppings bar, you are giving your guests or family lots of choices to make the dessert their own- and trust me when I say they are good, because they are delicious!
