We have survived the first week of school! All the peas are in school now, at least a few days a week, and are loving it!
Here’s some back-to-school photos of their first day.
Abigail entered 2nd grade. Her teacher is Miss Monroy and she loves her. She made a new BFF, as she said, on day one and had been bordering the line on wanting to be independent and also wanting to cry and being shy :/ It’s hard growing up! She looked so pretty in her first day dress and new hair cut.
Jacob started kindergarten and his big sister was eager to show him around.
Jacob has Mrs. Pearson, the same kinder teacher Abby had, so he felt comfortable right away. He’s quite the homebody, so going to school everyday (thankfully only half day) has been an adjustment for him, but he is excited to go every morning. His teacher says he is a model student, always paying attention. He can be VERY wiggly, so hopefully he saves that for me at home. He is a bit more reserved than his big sister and doesn’t make friends quite so easily, but by the third day, he has found a boy to play with on the playground. I pray for him to be spread his wings a bit and make more 🙂 I am so proud of my big boy, jumping into his new adventure with two feet!
He finished his day with big smiles and a certificate saying a job well done.
Hannah started PRESCHOOL! She is only going two mornings a week but it loving every second. The morning before she went to her first day, she seemed a bit nervous, telling me she wanted to stay, but when we got to school, all those nerves melted away. She made a friend, which happens to be Abby’s BFF’s little sister! They played play dough for hours and her teacher, Ms. Karma, said she was so kind and shared with everyone. She likes to play in the kitchen area and participates in all the story and classroom activities. She also gets to see another one of her favorite teachers, Ms. Courtney, on the playground and she is so happy about that! I can’t believe my last baby is in school. I’m thankful it’s only for 6 hours because, although I love my quiet time, I miss her when she’s gone.
They are all doing so well and I am proud to be their mama. It can be hard to send them off, because this is the time that they start to need you less and being to develop their own friends, experiences and memories without you, on their own. Mama and Daddy are so excited for their new adventures to start and am are so proud of all their hard work.
Three little peas…off to school. xoxo
